RDA Riverina Committee Member – Karen Hutchinson. Karen Hutchinson is part of the senior management team at Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited, one of the largest private irrigation companies in NSW.

She has been involved in the irrigation industry in policy and advocacy positions for the past 15 years. Karen currently sits on the Board of the National Irrigators' Council and is a member of the Basin Community Committee, an advisory committee to the Murray Darling Basin Authority.

Before moving to Griffith in 1999, Karen worked for the Commonwealth Government in areas of National Health Policy including ethics, general practice and drug strategy. Karen has an honours degree in psychology and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She recently completed the IAP2 Certificate in Engagement and in 2011 was awarded the prestigious RIRDC Rural Woman of the Year for NSW.

Karen joined the RDA in 2015 where she is an advocate for rural communities and change.
