RDA Riverina Committee Member – Gary Lavelle. Gary Lavelle is the General Manager for Temora Shire Council.

Gary has been employed by Temora Shire Council for 29 years, in the role of General Manager for the last 23 years. He is a career local government practitioner having worked across New South Wales Councils prior to employment at Temora Shire Council.

This is his second stint on the board of RDA Riverina having previously served between 2012-2014. Gary is a firm believer in the strength, resilience and potential of the Riverina Region. In particular, he has a strong interest in the role smaller community’s have in supporting vibrant Regional Centres. His belief is that vital small towns can, and must, play a major role in the economic health of the region.

He brings significant experience in intergovernmental relations, stakeholder engagement, governance, financial management and community consultation to the Committee and looks forward to playing an active role in RDA Riverina.

In 2016, Gary was awarded a Public Service Medal (PSM) for services to Local Government.
