Connecting Up Webinar Course | IT Strategy on a Plate 2022

Digital disruption is no longer an innovation of the future, it has occurred. Having an efficient, secure and reliable digital technologies in your organisation has never been more important. Connecting Up's IT Strategy on a Plate course guides NFPs through the development of an affordable and effective digital transformation/IT strategy for their organisation within a consultative educational framework.

"The presence of a digital transformation/ IT plan allows an organisation to clearly identify areas of investment in technology operations in order to operate efficiently, generate revenue, and measure program outcomes. The absence of a formal plan can impact an organisation's ability to focus on the 'right' digital technology." - Digital Technology in the Not-for-Profit Sector Report 2018

A digital transformation/IT strategy developed by a consultant can cost anywhere between $20,000 and $80,000 (or more) and this is not affordable for many NFPs. As we head into our seventh IT Strategy on a Plate series, Connecting Up and Infoxchange have created an affordable methodology for creating a detailed, effective digital transformation/IT strategy for an organisation.

Through consultation and coaching, the course and its trainers will guide participants to develop a comprehensive IT strategy for their not-for-profit, which includes:

  • Understanding the business strategy and the level of sophistication in digital technology ecosystem that the business strategy requires

  • Identifying the business processes of the NFP at a high level

  • What systems are typically required to support those business processes

  • What infrastructure is required to underpin the business systems

  • What support is required to manage the infrastructure and business system

  • Creating heat maps for the systems, infrastructure and support on current systems in place at the NFP

  • Creating a narrative around the heat maps

  • Reviewing current digital technology trends and what opportunities these present for the NFP

  • Determining the priorities of resultant digital transformation projects

  • Estimating the investment associated with the digital transformation required

Course Testimonial

“I would highly recommend any charity doing an IT strategy to get in touch with Connecting Up and TechSoup New Zealand. We had been looking at band aids and were struggling to find a long-term solution to our IT problems, but In a year’s time we will be in a totally different position. The facilitator, was amazing and went above and beyond what we could ever have expected from a private consultant. The big difference now is that we actually have a plan and are moving forward with it. Long term this will mean greater efficiencies and services and overall better support for people with Multiple Sclerosis."
