The NSW Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme supports residents who are unable to use public transport services because of a severe and permanent disability.
The TTSS provides a subsidy of up to 50 per cent or $60 maximum per metered trip. The subsidy can be used travel in wheelchair accessible taxis.
The scheme isn’t means tested, but there are five categories for eligibility.
To make the scheme easier to use Transport for NSW has provided smartcard to eligible residents living in the regions.
The tap-and-go card will help reduce the time it takes to pay and process a taxi fare.
Both businesses and travellers need to apply for access to the scheme.
