Supply Chain Mapping Project Stage 1
Southern Corridor – Narromine to Seymour
Griffith Industry Workshop
CSIRO’s Transport Network Strategic Investment Tool (TraNSIT) model is being rolled out along the Inland Rail southern corridor (from the Narromine to Seymour regions), to determine the potential transport cost savings from Inland Rail for regional supply chains. The Phase 1 study will build on an earlier pilot project that projected significant transport cost savings for horticulture and post-processed food supply chains: the pilot project can be accessed at https://www.inlandrail.gov.au/csiro-supply-chain-mapping.
The Phase 1 study outputs will form the evidence base for:
Estimating the expected transport related regional benefits of Inland Rail for different commodities and their associated supply chains;
Informing future public or private investments to leverage the benefits of Inland Rail for regional Australia.
This workshop will provide an introduction to the CSIRO TraNSIT team, and explain the project scope, methodology, information security and privacy provisions. A key objective of the workshop will be to confirm the appropriateness of the proposed project study area. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions relating to the study.
Following the workshop, CSIRO will be arranging one on one meetings in order to gather data to inform the study.
