SPRING BREAKFAST SESSIONS: Landholder Rebound, Regain and Improve Workshops (BATLOW)

A series of workshops will be held for bushfire affected landholders in the Snowy Valleys Council region in October 2020.

In partnership with Regional Development Australia (RDA) Riverina with funding from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) in partnership with the Pratt Foundation, Riverina Local Land Services will host the workshops which will provide landholders with information to support their recovery journey including environmental and pasture restoration, regaining livestock productivity, and strengthening ongoing producers welfare and resilience.

Information will also be provided on the day on incentives that will soon be available via Local Land Services for recovery activities with natural resource management and biosecurity programs.

Speakers include:

  • Richard Hayes - Senior Research Scientist, NSW Department of Primary Industries – Agriculture (latest research on pasture establishment and management, linking soil type and landscape)

  • Brian Cumming - Brian Cumming Agriculture (developing, implementing and monitoring plans to lift livestock profit through better performance)

  • Cherie White - Riverina Local Land Services Project Officer NLP2 - (revegetation plans for natives and exotics – pros and cons)

  • Rod Baker - Riverina Local Land Services Regional Pest Coordinator - (pest animal and weed control program update)

  • Catherine Marriott - NSW Department of Primary Industries Rural Resilience Officer (landholder welfare and resilience support update)

Breakfast from 7:30am - workshops will run from 8am to 10:30am
