SafeWork NSW Regional Roadshow | Managing Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace

SafeWork NSW inspectors will be providing free resources to businesses on how to identify and manage psychosocial hazards in the workplace.

About this event

Psychosocial hazards are hazards that can cause workers harm, disrupt workplaces, and cost businesses time and money. Common psychosocial hazards include fatigue, high workloads, workplace violence, bullying, and sexual harassment. There has been a 53% increase in claims for psychological injury across NSW since 2015 and the average cost of these is more than $85,000 per claim.

To help businesses understand more about psychosocial hazards and how to manage them, SafeWork inspectors will present on the Code of Practice on Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work at ten regional sites throughout October and November. They will provide real examples of psychosocial hazards and advice regarding strategies and free tools to help identify, assess, and manage them.
