South West NSW Virtual Drought Summit

A virtual Drought Summit will be held to address the ongoing drought conditions affecting South Western NSW. The event will bring together local councils, industry leaders, and regional stakeholders to discuss the current challenges and explore coordinated solutions for long-term drought resilience.

Key topics include:

  • The severity and impact of the current drought on producers and communities

  • Strain on rural infrastructure and the need for targeting funding

  • Advocacy for policy reform, including recognition of drought as a natural disaster

  • Immediate financial relief measures for affected farmers

  • Review of the Future Drought Fund’s effectiveness

  • Formation of a Regional Drought Taskforce to drive coordinated action
