The NSW Government is seeking feedback on the draft instruments and Regulations that will introduce the state-wide planning framework and mandatory Code of Conduct for short-term rental accommodation (STRA).

What's this about?

The proposed changes are outlined in a Discussion Paper(external link), which also seeks feedback about introducing a new industry-led STRA property register.

The discussion paper:

  • reviews community feedback from the October 2018 consultation

  • explains proposed changes in the draft Regulation

  • outlines the mandatory Code of Conduct

  • introduces an industry-led property register.

These proposed changes aim to support the economic value of short-term rental accommodation while managing social and environmental impacts.
