On August 6, 2025, Regional Development Australia (RDA) NSW & ACT brought together a powerful coalition of regional leaders, government officials, and community advocates at NSW Parliament House for the Friends of Regional NSW event.
The gathering celebrated the strength and resilience of regional communities and reinforced the importance of collaboration between local voices and government decision-makers. Hosted by RDA NSW & ACT Chair Anna Guillan AM, the event featured a keynote address from The Hon Tara Moriarty MLC, Minister for Agriculture, Regional NSW, and Western NSW.
Minister Moriarty highlighted the critical role of regional communities is shaping the future of New South Wales and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable investment and support across the state.
The event underscored key themes including:
Place-based policy development
Data-informed decision-making
The value of lived experience in shaping regional outcomes
With RDA representatives, MPs, senior public servants, and regional stakeholders in attendance, the event served as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when regional voices are heard and empowered.
As the RDA network continues to advocate for sustainable growth and opportunity across NSW, events like this play a vital role in building the partnerships that drive real change.
