Boarding Call for Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program

Media release: Assistant Minister for Regional Development

The Australian Government has opened Round 12 of the Report Airstrip Upgrade (RAU) Program, with up to $25 million available to upgrade airstrips in remote Australia.

The RAU covers up to 50 per cent of project costs, capped at a maximum of $4 million for eligible works. For Indigenous owned or operated aerodromes that meet eligibility guidelines, grants may cover up to 100 per cent of eligible project works.

Works may include safety improvements such as resealing or re-sheeting aircraft pavements, lighting, fencing, aviation safety training or basic airside ambulance and passenger shelters.
