Truck drivers will have more options to take a break when travelling across Australia’s regions, with state, territory and local governments now able to apply for funding under the Australian Government’s Heavy Vehicle Rest Area grant funding opportunity.
Through the Heavy Vehicle Rest Area, the Australian Government has committed $140 million over 10 years for the construction of new and upgraded heavy vehicle rest areas. The initiative will be delivered through the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program (HVSPP).
