The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a federal government initiative that connects rural and regional Australian businesses with workers from 9 Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste, when there are not enough local workers available.
Several businesses in the Riverina region have signed up to the program and are experiencing the benefits of a reliable workforce for short term or longer-term contracts.
Representatives from the PALM scheme will be in Wagga on the 2nd June to deliver a free information session for any interested businesses.
Through the PALM scheme, eligible businesses can recruit workers for seasonal jobs for up to 9 months or for longer-term roles for between one and 4 years in unskilled, low-skilled, and semi-skilled positions.
Please come along to learn more about the program, find out whether your business is eligible to participate and how to apply. You can also go to the PALM scheme website for more information.
It is free to attend and light refreshments will be served.
