Try a Trade Day will be going ahead this year on Thursday the 18th of August 2022. 

The event will be held at The Range Function Centre and will be attended by current Year 9 through to Year 12 students from local high schools within the Wagga Careers Advisers Association network.  Students from each high school will be given a scheduled timetable to attend the event for a one hour period over the course of the day. 

On completion of the high school visits the venue will be open to the general public including parents and job seekers from 3.00 – 4.30pm.

This is an immersive event where we would like you to have hands on activities to demonstrate the activities you undertake in your organisation, preferably activities students can also engage with to experience the skills your industry requires while they ask you questions about pathways and employment options. Let them have a ‘Try’ of what you do in your workplace to inspire them to want to know more.  Examples of practical experiences include simulators and  demonstrations of equipment that you use at your workplace.

There is no requirement for hand out material although exhibitors may like to give students a page with contact details and information regarding the types of work on offer for school leavers and application instructions.

A jobs board will also be on display during the event to advertise your current vacancies including apprenticeships and traineeships.
