Regional Futures in Focus: Electrification of the Hume Highway, will be held in Wodonga on Thursday, 13 August 2026, bringing together leaders from transport, logistics, infrastructure, energy and government sectors to explore the future or freight along one of Australia’s most important supply chain corridors.

Hosted by Regional Development Australia Murray, the forum will examine the opportunities and challenges associated with the transition to low-emission freight transport on the Hume Highway, a critical link between Melbourne and Sydney. The program will feature insights from industry experts, infrastructure providers and technology innovators, with discussions covering charging infrastructure, grid readiness, corridor development and the evolving role of electric heavy vehicles.

Attendees will gain valuable insight into the future of freight electrification through a combination of expert presentations, real-world case studies and discussions on electric truck performance, including range, payload and operational capability. Live vehicle displays and demonstrations will also give participants the opportunity to see emerging technologies in action.
