The Australian Government is inviting applications via an open process to apply for funding under the $6 million National Agriculture Traceability Regulatory Technology Research and Insights Grant round.
A national approach to traceability reform, with government and industry co-designing an efficient, streamlined, and internationally recognised traceability system, is central to the growth of Australia’s agricultural sector. In support of this approach, this program is designed to align with the objectives under the draft National Agricultural Traceability Strategy 2023 to 2033 that was co-designed by industry and the department and was opened for consultation on 19 October 2022.
Regulatory Technology (RegTech) is the use of technology to better achieve regulatory objectives and has the potential to support growth of the agricultural sector: leading the way for increased digitisation, streamlining compliance requirements, and creating opportunities to realise greater value.
This grant program will provide opportunities for successful applicants to strengthen partnerships across industry sectors and government and contribute to the development of innovative and practicable proposals to increase the use of RegTech along agricultural supply chains. Research and insights will demonstrate how to leverage RegTech to enhance agricultural traceability reforms, and support growth of the agricultural sector.
