The Home Ownership Grants funded by the Aboriginal Housing Office (NSW) are now open for application. These grants are available to support Aboriginal people in purchasing a home in NSW. If you’re in the process of buying and meet the eligibility criteria, you may be able to access:
Up to $2,500 for legal and administrative costs
Up to $10,000 to match your saved house deposit
Up to $20,000 in co-contribution for eligible long-term AHO residents
To apply, email HomeOwnership@aho.nsw.gov.au and ask for a grant application form.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for a Home Ownership Grant, you must be an Aboriginal person who:
Has saved at least $1,000 toward a deposit
Has a maximum individual or combined annual income of up to $200,000
Currently lives in NSW and is purchasing a property in NSW
Does not currently own residential property (unless it’s land you intend to build on)
Has not qualified for Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) Remote Indigenous Home Loan package
