As NSW continues it’s transition to renewable energy, new career opportunities are emerging across the state. The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCO) has launched the NSW Renewable Energy Jobs Guide, a resource designed to help people explore careers, training pathways and employment opportunities in the growing renewable energy sector.
The guide is suitable for school students, university and trades students, jobseekers, career changers, employers, educators, Aboriginal people, career advisors and women considering careers in traditionally male-dominated industries.
For Riverina residents, the guides provide valuable insights into future workforce opportunities and the skills needed to support Australia's energy transition. Career pathways featured in the guide include:
Trades and technician roles
Engineering and project delivery careers
Site support and construction roles
Community engagement, finance, human resources and other corporate positions
Apprenticeship, traineeship and training opportunities
The guide also provides information about workforce demand across NSW's Renewable Energy Zones (REZs), helping jobseekers understand where opportunities are expected to grow in the coming years.
With the Riverina's strong workforce in trades, construction, engineering, transport and agriculture, the guides highlight how existing skills can transfer into the renewable energy sector and support long-term career development in regional NSW.
