Community organisations in remote, rural and regional Australia are invited to apply for funding through the In a Good Place (IAGP) grants program, which supports projects that strengthen mental health, social and emotional wellbeing.
The program provides funding for a broad range of community-led initiatives, services and activities that can help build stronger, more connected communities. Projects can be either preventative or responsive in nature and should clearly focus on improving mental wellbeing.
Funded projects may:
Reduce mental health stigma and encourage open conversations about mental health
Support people to seek help when they need it
Foster social participation, inclusion and community connection
Reduce social isolation and strengthen community wellbeing
There are two funding streams available:
Community Wellbeing: Supporting projects that focus on mental health and wellbeing across remote, rural and regional communities.
Farmers and Farming Communities: Supporting projects specifically aimed at improving the mental health and wellbeing of farmers and the communities in which they live and work.
The program is open to charitable, community-based projects that use non-clinical approaches to engage people and are accessible to local communities.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organisations with an ABN or Incorporation Certificate.
For many organisations in our region, this means groups such as:
Men’s Sheds
CWA Branches
Small town community associations
Farming groups
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations
Local Councils
Youth organisations
Community organisations and volunteer groups that meet eligibility requirements
The program has a strong focus on supporting smaller communities, particularly those with populations fewer than 10,000 people. Applications from larger regional centres may also be considered where projects demonstrate benefits for surrounding smaller communities.
