RAS Foundation Rural Scholarships


Students from regional and rural communities across NSW and the ACT are encouraged to apply for the 2027 RAS Foundation Rural Scholarships, which provide financial support to help students pursue further education and training while staying connected to their local communities.

The scholarships are available to students enrolled in, or applying for, an accredited tertiary course, including university, TAFE, college and Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to supporting the future of rural and regional NSW or ACT, and explain how the scholarship will assist them in achieving their education and career goals.

There are no restrictions on the type of course studied, with previous scholarship recipients pursuing careers in fields such as healthcare, education, agriculture, veterinary services, trades and more.

Key information:

  • Applications close: 5 October 2026

  • Funding available: Up to $7,000 for full-time students and up to $3,500 for part-time students

  • Payments: Scholarships are paid in three instalments, with the first payment made in April each year

Eligibility - Applicants must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Have completed a minimum of Year 10

  • Be enrolled in, or applying for, an accredited tertiary course at a university, TAFE, college or approved training provider

Please note: Students undertaking school-based apprenticeships or traineeships are not eligible to apply.
